Protecting and caring for our environment
We work hard to reduce any negative impact our work may have on the environment.
This includes:
- Reducing print and paper waste
- Sourcing of recycled or sustainable paper products
- Powering down of idle desktop equipment
- Recycling of redundant IT equipment

During 2011 we worked with a specialist consultancy to determine our carbon footprint for 2010. This involved looking at three scopes of emissions we are responsible for under the Greenhouse Gas Protocol:
| Scope 1 | Direct emissions from our use of natural gas for heating, and fuel consumed in company-owned vehicles. |
|---|---|
| Scope 2 | Emissions arising from our use of purchased electricity. |
| Scope 3 | Indirect emissions, typically arising from our staff using their own cars for company business. |
We were able to offset our 2010 emissions through the purchase and retirement of Carbon Credits.
Since July 2011 we have been exploring ways in which we can reduce future emissions. We are working towards the PAS2060 standard for carbon neutrality.
